Sad news from Hollywood today – actor Luke Perry has died at the age of 52, after suffering a stroke last week. He was known for playing Dylan McKay on Beverly Hills 90210, and most recently, was starring on the CW series Riverdale. He was raised in Fredericksville, Ohio and moved to Hollywood shortly after high school to pursue acting. One of his earliest roles was appearing in the music video “Be Chrool to Your Scuel” for Twisted Sister. His character on 90210 was only supposed to be part of 1 story arc, and appear in just 1 or 2 episodes. Fox was initially reluctant to make him a regular on the show, but Aaron Spelling felt differently and gave him a bigger part in the first two years of the show, until the network was eventually won over. He left 90210 in 1995, in an attempt to find more mature roles, but returned the show for financial reasons in 1998. After the show ended, Perry was a guest star in numerous shows, including Will and Grace, Law and Order SVU and Criminal Minds. He suffered a major stroke on February 27, and passed away today, at the age of 52.
