Iron Angel Foundation 8-18-19

Iron Angel Foundation President Bonnie Venton sits down with Marti Casper to talk about The IAF and the impact it has had on the community since it’s inception 7 years ago. Bonnie was friends with Fairport teacher and triathlete Heather Frazier Boyum, who was killed by 2 drunk and high drivers while she was out on a training ride July 29th, 2012. Heather was only 40 years old, married with 2 young children. Heather’s family and friends, including Pittsford Moms In Motion decided to put together a 5K trail race to honor her. Proceeds go to the IAF and at first were used for science scholarships. Now it has branched out to families in need,. This years 5K race, 1 mile stroller walk and Kid’s Fun Run is Sunday September 29th at Center Park behind the Perinton Rec Center. Funds will go to help offset medical and other costs to the family of 18 month old Aurora Putney in Perry, who is battling Blastic Plasmacytoid Dendritic Cell Neoplasm Leukemia.
