Scouting For Food 3-1-2020


Mark Shuttleworth speaks with Stephen Hoitt, Scout Executive/CEO, Mark Dwyer of Foodlink and Tyler Fleming from Scout Troop 207 in Fairport about this years Scouting For Food, which runs March 14th through the 21st in Monroe, Ontario, Seneca, Wayne & Yates Counties. They collected nearly 62 tons or over 123,000 pounds of food last year and hope to meet or beat that this year. Over 4,800 Scouts and Adult volunteers participated giving nearly 25,000 hours back to the community. Scouts will be out on the 14th leaving a informational yellow sticker on front doors. If you get one then Scouts will be back out on March 21st to pick up donations. There will be weeklong collection boxes at Tops, H&R Block locations and DiBella’s Subs. Scouting For Food supports over 40 community food pantries in serving the needs of families
