Happy birthday, Chuck Berry! The Father of Rock and Roll would be 96 years old today. Berry was a pioneer of rock and roll music. He refined and developed R&B, writing lyrics about teen life, and developing a style heavy on guitar solos and showmanship. His biggest songs include “Maybelline”, “Roll Over Beethoven”, and “Johnny B. Goode”. He was in the first group of musicians inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986. Learn more here.
