Foodlink 10/16/22

Ed Smith spoke with Mark Dwyer, Director of Communication at Foodlink.  Foodlink acts as a distribution center and hub for local food pantries across the 9-county region.  Mark gave a recap of September, which was Hunger Action Month.  Hunger Action Month is a nationwide and local campaign to draw attention to hunger and food insecurity that people face.  He spoke about their signature event, Festival of Food, which raises money for Foodlink.  Mark spoke about the White House Conference on Nutrition and Health and a construction fundraising event going on now at the Strong Museum.  Mark highlighted the Check Out Hunger campaign that is going on at Wegmans for the next month.
