Comedian Gallagher died Friday 11/11 at the age of 76. He was best known for his “Sledge-O-Matic” routine, where he’d smash a variety of different foods, culminating with a watermelon. He started out as a road manager for comedian/musician Jim Stafford in the 70s, and decided to start performing as well. His first comedy special, called An Uncensored Evening, was the first standup special to air on cable. He was primarily a touring comedian, performing over 3,500 live shows over the course of his career. Learn more here.
