Today’s Wiki Corner is inspired by today’s Impossible Question. Today, Maggie’s Impossible Question was “What animal has the worst breath?” and the answer was a camel! The reason is that they’re ruminants, so they regurgitate their food to chew it again, which results in some pretty stinky breath! Their diet is mainly foliage, dry grass, and desert vegetation. They graze for 8 to 12 hours a day and ruminate for an equal amount of time. They can live 40-50 years and can run at up to 40 mph in short bursts! Contrary to popular belief, camels don’t store water in their humps! They’re actually reservoirs of fatty tissue. Because food and water are so scarce in the desert where they live, they can live off those fat stores. Camels can go a week or more without water and can last several months with no food!
