Over the weekend, Jeopardy! celebrated its 60th birthday. In honor of this milestone (and because I’m a huge Jeopardy! nerd), we’re kicking off a theme week today: 5 Trivia Tidbits! First up, the bend in a flamingo’s leg isn’t its knee, it’s actually its ankle! That’s why it looks like their legs bend backward when they walk. They get their bright pink color from the beta-carotene and bacteria in their diet, which is mostly algae and brine shrimp. Flamingos are social birds and live in large colonies that can number in the thousands. A group of flamingos is called a “flamboyance”. Learn more here.
