Happy Throwback Thursday! Today our throwback year is 1977, the year Three’s Company debuted on ABC. It ran for eight seasons and was based on a British show called Man About the House. It premiered in the spring, in the middle of the 1976-77 season. At the time, most midseason shows were cancelled after their 6 episode run. Many thought Three’s Company would be the same, but it got record ratings, becoming the highest-rated midseason show ever broadcast on network television at the time. It was a top 10 hit from 1977 through 1983. The show spawned 2 spin offs, The Ropers and Three’s a Crowd. Both only lasted one season. You can stream episodes now on Pluto TV. Learn more here.
