It’s Bird Week on the Wiki Corner! We’re kicking off a theme week about birds today with the most abundant landbird in North America – the American Robin! Robins are often among the first birds to start singing early in the morning and the last as evening sets in. They also sing when storms approach and after they pass. Robins are one of the first North American birds to lay eggs, and they typically have 2 to 3 broods per breeding season, which lasts from April to July. However, on average only 40% of nests successfully produce young and the average lifespan for a robin is only 2 years! Learn more here.
