This is the second day of our theme week on Common Misconceptions! Today we’re talking about the Great Wall of China – which is actually NOT visible from space! The width of the Great Wall of China from the moon is the same as if you tried to see a human hair from 2 miles away. Even from low Earth orbit (an altitude of as low as 100 miles), NASA says the wall is barely visible, and only under nearly perfect conditions if you know exactly where to look. Learn more here.
